Interview and hiring FAQs
We hire across a wide range of roles that support our quantitative investment process, including investment data, model research, portfolio management, trading, technology and process management. Colleagues across different areas work closely together on shared projects and initiatives.
Yes. Interns contribute to real outcomes and learn alongside experienced team members. Many return full time after graduation.
No. Many people join us without prior financial or investing knowledge. We look for individuals with the ability to grow into roles over time rather than expecting specific skills or domain expertise on day one. The level of financial knowledge required varies across teams and domains, and we aim to place people in roles where they can succeed, learn and continue developing over the long term.
Our team will review your application and may reach out to schedule an introductory conversation to explore potential alignment.
Yes, we’re happy to reconsider applications if there has been a change in your background and experience.
Yes, we consider candidates for more than one role, as there may be transferable skills between positions. If the team was to move forward with your candidacy, the best potential fit would be determined during interviews.
The interview process can vary depending on the role but typically includes an initial phone call followed by several rounds of interviews and assessments with team members you may potentially work with. We’re interested in how you think, solve problems, communicate and work with others.
Focus on your thinking, not memorization. We want to know how you approach problems — how you structure your thinking and communicate your reasoning. There is rarely a single “right” answer.
Our team is collaborative, low-ego and intellectually driven. We challenge ideas openly, learn from one another and focus on improving outcomes over time.
Our office is in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It’s a great place to build a career in quantitative investing while enjoying everything the city has to offer outside of work.
While you do not need to be local at the time of application, many roles are in Vancouver. We provide support for relocation.
Career growth on our team is flexible and shaped by individual strengths, interests and team needs. Team members may continue to grow within the area they joined, but also have flexibility to explore other teams and roles as skills and interests evolve.
We are very supportive of additional training and professional development opportunities.
